So I got a pretty exciting email in the ol’ inbox today:
Since 2022, I’ve been the faculty advisor for our campus’s literary magazine, The Fife. Each year, we solicit and collect multiple pieces of student art, photography, poetry, and prose writing– and each year, we submit the collected document to the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE)’s REALM competition.
A “Superior” rating is the second-highest tier of recognition from the program, and this award makes it the FOURTH YEAR IN A ROW that the mag has placed in this national competition.
The fact that this is entirely curated, edited, and assembled by students– I’m legitimately here to provide workspace, calls on content, and general support– is FANTASTIC.
